The 2025 Michigan Harm Reduction Summit will welcome approximately 300 professionals from across Michigan over two days to learn strategies for curbing the opioid epidemic. There will be a diverse representation of summit attendees, including state and local health departments, public safety, health centers and medical professionals, universities, community-based organizations, community mental health, social workers, and more.

The MDHHS Harm Reduction and Viral Hepatitis Unit is seeking speakers. We highly encourage and prioritize individuals who have personal experience with drug use or have lived through such experiences to submit abstracts. We believe this unique perspective and firsthand insight is invaluable in fostering comprehensive and inclusive dialogue surrounding the topic of harm reduction. By amplifying the voices of those with living and lived experience, we create a platform of authentic representation that contributes to a more nuanced understanding of the subject matter. We strongly encourage individuals from this background to share the expertise, knowledge, and stories in whatever way they feel comfortable, to greatly enrich the summit and promote a more empathetic discourse.
The organizing committee is seeking a diverse range of session topics. Please note that while abstracts can be submitted on any topic, the table serves as a source of inspiration:
