Meeting Time and Location:

10am-2pm

1940 S. Outer Drive, Saginaw, MI 48601

Note:

REA workshop provide attendees with a deep-dive into Public Act 233, which grants the Michigan Public Service Commission permitting authority over large, utility-scale renewable energy projects under certain circumstances.

EGLE staff will be joined by a guest speaker from UM’s Center for EmPowering Communities, and each workshop offers plenty of opportunity for questions and to discuss zoning options that best reflect each community’s interest. Please join us to learn:

  • The basics of large, utility-scale renewable energy.
  • Planning and zoning for these technologies under the new siting landscape.
  • Processes of PA 233, zoning pathways, and “workability options.”

This workshop will not be focusing on policy and rather is meant to provide neutral guidance and spark discussions around what options best reflect your municipality’s interests. The intended audience are local government officials, planning commissioners, planning staff, etc.

Please complete one registration form per municipality for no more than four attendees for the following session.
