Michigan Health Council is pleased to offer implicit bias training for health care professionals. The presentation covers heuristics, decision-making, identity consciousness, and cultural humility.
Each training will include an overview on how to recognize implicit bias, an in-depth discussion, and exercises on the following topics:

Learning Outcomes:

Learners will gain an understanding about what implicit bias is.

Learners will gain an understanding of the history of bias in healthcare and the modern consequences of bias in the delivery of health care services.

Learners will gain an understanding on how implicit bias informs their decisions and interactions.

Learners will learn strategies to remedy the impact of bias in their perceptions, judgment, and communication.

Learners will learn strategies to reduce disparities in access and delivery of health care services.
Michigan participants will earn a certificate of completion to meet the requirements for (re)licensure in the state of Michigan R 338.7004.
Each participant will earn two contact hours unless otherwise specified. In Michigan, implicit bias training must be completed in addition to continuing education. There must be a live component to this training to be recognized by Michigan LARA.
