MDARD: Food Law and Michigan Modified FDA Food Code Training

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Food and Dairy Division is offering three session/location options for a two-day Food Law / Food Code training course for new employees to the Food Program.  There is no charge for this course.

Prerequisites: Prior to attending this class, Local Health Department and MDARD attendees should complete the following:

• Recommended ORA-University courses; and
• Twenty-five joint inspections with their Standardized Trainer, and
• Study Annexes 4 and 5 of the 2009 FDA Food Code.

Please note: If Michigan updates the Michigan Food Law and adopts the 2017 FDA Food Code, additional large group trainings will be scheduled Statewide to cover that information with all Local Health Department food program inspectors.  It will be scheduled in collaboration with MALPH and MALEHA, in an agreed upon time frame, after the Law is updated.
