Health Department of Northwest Michigan
The Health Department of Northwest Michigan has offered to host an MDEQ Onsite Wastewater Team's soils training for environmental health staff on Septebmer 27 and 28, 2018. Day 1 will consist of a classroom workshop including lecture material and soil lab. Day 2 will offer a field day with backhoe cut and soil analysis.
Included in the class we have many different samples of soils for Environmental Health Staff to identify and practice soil texturing classification. The field component will give your staff the opportunity for “real time” soil analysis with an overview of texturing native soils and verifying mottling and SHWT. This is a great learning opportunity for all those new employees that are coming on board with onsite wastewater. It is also a great class to reinforce the skills of the seasoned staff as well!
