Civic health reflects the opportunities people have to participate in their communities and impact decision making. Narratives, or the values-based stories we use to understand our world, influence the opportunities we have to participate in civic life. Narratives also shape our ability to advance racial and health equity and realize civic health. In this webinar, we will explore how transformative narratives can influence policies and practices that make space for civic participation. We will hear from Jeannette Raymond with the Minnesota Department of Health (https://www.health.state.mn.us/) and Gloria Dickerson, founder and CEO of We2gether Creating Change (https://www.we2gether.org/), a Mississippi Delta-based community organization. Both guests will share examples of their work that demonstrate the power of narrative to create change.
