Public Health RN- Mobile Unit
Under the supervision of the Clinic Supervisor, provides professional public health nursing care to clients in the tri-county area by staffing a mobile clinic unit. Will be required to drive the mobile clinic unit and provide remote clinic services to vulnerable populations. Health department services include Immunizations, WIC, Sexually Transmitted Disease Control, Tuberculosis Control and comprehensive Communicable Disease surveillance and prevention as well as working the LEAD screening program. Nursing care includes assessment, interpretation of results, administering and calling in medication from standing orders, counseling and teaching, referral for other services, and evaluation of nursing care. May act as team leader for clerk/technicians. Demonstrates clear communication and integrity in support of the CHA mission, philosophy, and quality of client interventions. Promotes a model of ethical standards within the Agency and community. Developing a population-oriented view of community health is vital to appropriate public health nursing.
Employment Qualifications:
Education: Current Michigan Registered Nurse license is required
Experience & Required Skills:
- Two or more years of professional nursing experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to effectively communicate with co-workers, clients, community partners, community agencies/organizations and others, such as elected officials.
- Computer skills necessary to effectively utilize electronic medical record.
- Must be able to work independently and with others as a team.
Special Requirement: Must have a valid Michigan Chauffer’s License (or can obtain within 30 days of hire) and reliable transportation. Will be required to drive mobile clinic van.
Salary and Fringe Benefits:
